Acrylic Pour Art: A Beginner's Guide
By Team Splashit · Published 8 Mar 2026 · Last updated 15 Apr 2026

Acrylic pour art is a fluid painting technique where you mix acrylic paint with a pouring medium and pour it across a canvas, letting the paint flow into abstract patterns. It's one of the most beginner-friendly art forms because there's no drawing involved — just colour choice and composition.
What do you need for acrylic pour art?
- Acrylic paints in 3–5 colours
- A pouring medium (Splashit uses a proprietary mix)
- A pre-stretched canvas
- A cup, stirrer and gloves
- A drop cloth for mess
How long does it take?
At Splashit, an acrylic pour art session is 45 minutes end-to-end. You'll leave with a finished canvas the same day (full dry takes 24–48 hours).
Where to try acrylic pour art in India
Splashit runs guided acrylic pour workshops in Delhi, Gurugram, Noida and Bangalore. Prices start at ₹900 per person including canvas, paints and pouring medium.
